Description:

Delaware County Planning Department seeks a Stream Planner to advise communities on issues related to watershed land-use planning including flood damage prevention, stormwater management, recreation and fisheries, and riparian zone management. Serve as Planning Department contact for the areas listed above. Facilitate implementation of Stream Corridor Management Plans (SCMPs) for the East and West branches of the Delaware River, including working with stakeholders to update the SCMPs. Liaise between Planning Department and other agencies including the Soil and Water Conservation District, New York City Department of Environmental Protection, and other federal, state, county, and municipal agencies on issues related to stream management. Facilitate technical assistance with stream management projects for municipalities and private landowners including grant writing, project planning, and project design. Coordinate advisory groups to watershed management planning activities, composed of a wide variety of stakeholders.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s or higher degree in land use planning, landscape architecture, natural resource management, or a related field. Ability to coordinate multiple projects at once and switch gears rapidly. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, for a variety of different audiences. Knowledge of and interest in stream management issues including flood damage prevention, riparian zone management, stream and floodplain ecology, stream recreation and fisheries, and stormwater management. Willingness to learn about a wide variety of different subjects pertinent to stream corridor management and community planning. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Compensation
A permanent, full-time position. Pay: $35,000 – $42,500, depending on qualifications.

Environmental Chemist - Oxnard - California - at Aerotek E & E

Our client is a well known environmental company with multiple locations. They have an immediate opening for a Environmental Chemist for their location in Oxnard.

The chosen candidate will have experience with chemistry in the environmental consulting industry, requires previous experience preparing sampling and analysis plans including UFP QAPP’s, writing DQOs, knowledge of bioremediation processes and geochemistry, experience with data validation, sample collection and coordination, compliance sampling and reporting (wastewater/drinking water/stormwater). Expertise in SQL Server database and ERPIMS/NIRIS database structure and upload procedures strongly preferred. Candidate’s time would be split between project management, program QA/QC and technical data evaluation.

Minimum requirements
-Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or related field.
-5+ Years applicable experience.
-Excellent verbal and written skills.

Pay: $55,000/Year – $75,000/Year + Depending on level of experience.
